Inside Amangati: Aman’s First-Ever Luxury Yacht

Aman is best known for some of the most exclusive resorts on the planet, and now that same philosophy of calm, space, and privacy is heading to sea. In spring 2027, Aman launches Amangati, its first-ever luxury yacht.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection kicked off the small-ship, ultra-luxury trend, and it’s a cruise line I can’t recommend enough. I’ve sailed with them several times myself, and every guest I’ve sent their way has come back raving. Since then, the category has only gotten more crowded, with Four Seasons Yachts and Orient Express Sailing Yachts both debuting this year. But Aman at Sea is set to be the pinnacle of small-ship cruising, the top of the top of the line.

What Is Amangati?

Amangati is the name of their first yacht and it takes its name from the Sanskrit for “peaceful motion,” and that’s exactly the idea behind it. Think of it as an Aman resort that floats, with the same serenity and the same elegant design now spread across nine decks at sea.

Amangati carries just 94 guests across 47 suites, and every single suite opens onto its own private terrace. At its heart is the largest spa in luxury yachting, a two-story wellness retreat complete with a Japanese serenity garden and ocean-facing treatment rooms.

Amangati debuts in the Mediterranean in May 2027, then heads to the Caribbean later that year.

Life on Board: Pools, Marina, and Water Toys

Aft on deck 6 sits the main pool, a 16-meter infinity pool that seems to spill straight into the ocean, framed by shaded loungers, daybeds, and private cabanas. It’s more than a pool, it’s the social heart of the ship by day, with a pool bar for wine and light bites, a gelato stand, and an open-air Mediterranean restaurant just steps away.

Down on deck 3 is the marina, where Amangati meets the sea. Floating platforms fold out into the water, turning the stern into a private beach club stocked with jet skis, Seabobs, electric surfboards, kayaks, and paddleboards. Picture kayaking the Blue Lagoon of the Adriatic, paddleboarding the quiet coves of the Amalfi Coast, or simply floating in the calm of the Greek Isles. For easier days, there’s a floating trampoline, snorkeling gear, and even a battery-powered dive system.

Getting offshore is built into the experience, too. Amangati carries a fleet of six elegant tenders, including air-conditioned limousine boats with their own bar and bathroom.

Dining: Four Restaurants, One Philosophy

Amangati has four restaurants, each with its own story:

Alira is the all-day, open-air Mediterranean spot, with menus that change daily based on the ports you’re sailing through. Akari is Aman’s signature Japanese omakase counter, a ten-seat spot where chefs build bespoke tasting menus around each guest’s tastes and the day’s market ingredients, with its own sake bar alongside. For something more theatrical, Hiori is the teppanyaki room, where each course unfolds right in front of you, from sushi and miso through wagyu to a closing ceremony. And the Aman Grill is built around aged meats, whole fish, and cocktails, with sommelier-led wine pairings.

Fresh, seasonal, and rooted in both land and sea: that’s the thread running through all four.

Nightlife and Onboard Spaces

When dinner winds down, Amangati comes alive. At the center of it is a jazz club inspired by Aman New York, with live music and a terrace that opens into the night. For something quieter, there’s a cigar lounge with a members’-club feel, a humidor, and rare spirits. Bars are scattered everywhere you’d want one: artisanal sake at the sake bar, barrel-aged whiskies at the Aman Grill, and a relaxed lounge by the water where the marina meets the sea. There’s also a private cinema with 12 reclining seats for intimate film nights.

The Spa: Largest in Luxury Yachting

If Aman is famous for one thing, it’s wellness, and on Amangati, the spa isn’t an afterthought. It’s the heart of the ship, and it’s the largest spa in luxury yachting: a two-story Japanese serenity garden with eight ocean-facing treatment suites, each with its own private terrace and whirlpool bath.

Treatments are built around four pillars: nutrition, movement, psychological health, and body work, with a dedicated medicine spa on board for more advanced, science-backed therapies. There’s also a traditional banya and hammam for slow, restorative heat rituals, plus a beauty lounge for everyday facials and hair styling. It’s wellness on a scale you won’t find anywhere else at sea.

The Suites

Amangati has just 47 suites, each finished in warm timber tones with floor-to-ceiling windows, ceilings up to 8 feet, and a private terrace in every room. There are five categories:

Deluxe Suite: open-plan living, roughly 650 to 700 sq ft Premier Suite: roughly 670 to 780 sq ft Signature Suite: roughly 870 to 920 sq ft Grand Suite: two spacious rooms, about 1,100 sq ft, with a sweeping bow-facing terrace Aman Suite: the signature residence, a staggering 3,800 sq ft with its own in-suite massage room and a private whirlpool on the terrace

Every suite includes a personal suite host, Starlink Wi-Fi, a stocked beverage center, and daily in-suite breakfast on request. There’s also an onboard boutique offering timeless pieces and thoughtful essentials.

What’s Included in Your Rate

A lot, actually. Included in every rate: a personal suite host, twice-daily housekeeping, laundry, and turndown, all-day dining and unlimited gelato, in-suite breakfast, light bites, non-alcoholic drinks and beer, the fitness studio, the marina and all its water toys, the pool, the cinema, onboard entertainment, Wi-Fi, and gratuities.

What’s extra: cocktails and wine, the three specialty restaurants (Aman Grill, Akari, and Hiori), spa and beauty treatments, the boutique, and shore excursions.
