Tauck has announced that two new river ships will operate in France starting in 2026.
One vessel, which accommodates 130 passengers, will navigate the Rhône River. It will feature 68 cabins, including 22 suites measuring 300 square feet, 34 cabins of 225 square feet, and 12 cabins of 180 square feet.
The second, slightly smaller ship will host up to 124 guests on Seine River cruises. This ship will offer 20 suites of 300 square feet, 30 cabins of 225 square feet, and 12 cabins of 180 square feet. Notably, the 180-square-foot Category 1 cabins on these new ships will be 20% larger than the Category 1 cabins found on Tauck’s existing riverboats. Additionally, Tauck will waive the single supplement fee for all Category 1 cabins on the new vessels for every sailing.
Tauck CEO Dan Mahar mentioned that there will be “fresh and fun innovations” introduced in the ships’ sun decks, restaurants, lounges, spas, and other communal areas. He stated, “We have some wonderful enhancements in the works, and we’re looking forward to revealing more of our plans in the coming months.”
I am excited to see what Tauck has planned! With the new small ship cruise options like the Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection and Four Seasons Yachts, it’s wonderful to hear that Tauck is developing some exciting innovations.
Mahar also noted that Tauck is concluding a record year for European river cruises, with double-digit percentage growth compared to last year’s passenger numbers.
